There’s been a lot of excitement around social networks lately. MySpace currently has 275 million members and Facebook claims more than 70 million. Those are big number numbers that no one can deny. Is this just hype? How does this affect your business?

Bill Johnston over at Forum One just release the results of their Online Community ROI report which includes a chart of the top community activities. I've posted a copy of it here and I think it shows some interesting activity. This data was compiled based on the responses from the corporate & non-profit organizations polled by Forum One.

As part of our on-going work to improve the user interface for the Small World Labs platform we've recently added a new platform-wide bookmarking feature. This allows any user on the platform to bookmark (favorite, library, etc.) any profile or content type as well as manage those link via the user dashboard.

Just saw this post today on Scoble's blog. The key info from the concept is around:

1. Ownership of our own personal information.
2. Control of whether and how such personal information is used.
3. Freedom to grant persistent access to our personal info.
